12-year-old boy tragically drowns while attempting to retrieve a ball in a river

A 12-year-old boy named Ofosu Stephen has tragically drowned in the Ferterr River in Ahafo Mim, located in the Asunafo North Municipality. The young victim was a student at Zion School in Mim. According to reports from Rainbowradioonline.com, Stephen and his friends were playing football by the river when their ball accidentally fell into the water. In an attempt to retrieve the ball, Stephen jumped into the river but unfortunately, he did not resurface and drowned.

The news of Stephen’s untimely death has deeply saddened both his family and the community. During an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem, an aunt of the deceased revealed that Stephen was the fourth child of her elder sister. She also mentioned that Stephen’s body has been recovered from the river, and local traditional authorities have conducted rituals in the area to honor his memory.
