Fella Makafui Explains Why She Almost Missed YOLO Chance Because She Didn’t Like The Serwaa Role (Video)

Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Precious Fella Makafui recently shared that she almost missed the opportunity to star in the popular TV series YOLO.

Speaking on TV3’s The Afternoon Show on May 2, 2024, Makafui revealed that she initially turned down the chance to play the role of Serwaa in the show.

She explained that she felt hesitant about taking on the role as it resembled her real-life experience of selling bread with her mother.

Makafui admitted that she had even declined the role at first, telling Director Ivan Quashigah that she wouldn’t do YOLO.

During auditions, she had her eyes set on playing the character of Emily, Cyril’s girlfriend, but was asked to portray Serwaa instead.

Despite her initial reluctance, Makafui eventually accepted the role of Serwaa, a decision that ultimately launched her into stardom and solidified her position in Ghana’s entertainment industry.

Reflecting on her journey, Makafui acknowledged the role YOLO played in her career and expressed gratitude for the opportunity.

She also mentioned that despite her success, she still takes public transportation (trotro) as a way to stay grounded.
