Fix ‘Dumsor’ no matter how small it is – Yvonne Nelson tells Akufo-Addo

In a tweet on Tuesday, the actress called on President Akufo-Addo’s government to address the ongoing power outages in the country. She emphasized that regardless of the duration of the outages, whether for an hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, or daily, the situation needed to be fixed.

This is not the first time the actress has spoken about power outages in Ghana. In 2015, during John Mahama’s administration, she led a demonstration along with other celebrities to demand a solution to the power crisis.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) recently warned citizens to expect more power outages during peak demand hours due to overloaded distribution transformers.

The ECG assured that they are working on upgrading and implementing new projects to improve the power supply and asked for patience from affected customers.

The Managing Director of the ECG, Samuel Dubik Mahama, acknowledged maintenance issues contributing to the frequent power disruptions. The ECG is committed to resolving these issues and improving Ghana’s power distribution system.

The actress’s tweet serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Ghanaians due to power outages and the need for a lasting solution to the problem.
