“Get up and greet me”- President Akufo-Addo angrily commands Chiefs to stand (Watch Video)

In a recent video that went viral, President Akufo-Addo was seen at the funeral of the late Alhaji Rashid Bawa in Kadjebi, Oti Region, where he displayed a moment of assertiveness.

The President arrived at the event with a large entourage and proceeded to greet the attendees, including the Chiefs present.

However, when he approached the Chiefs’ area, one of them remained seated on his stool, expecting the President to shake hands with him in that position.

President Akufo-Addo, recognizing his role as the Leader of Ghana, commanded the Chief to stand up before shaking hands with him.

This interaction was captured on video and has sparked a debate among different groups.

Some believe that the Chief should have stood up as a sign of respect even before the President reached him, while others criticize President Akufo-Addo for what they see as publicly humiliating the Chief.

The video has generated discussion about the appropriate protocols and etiquette when interacting with traditional leaders and heads of state.

It has also highlighted the importance of mutual respect and understanding in such situations.
