“Government have used the National Cathedral to rob Ghana” – Prophet Kofi Oduro

Prophet Kofi Oduro, the founder of Alabaster International Ministry, has strongly criticized the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government for the National Cathedral project, stating that it has drained Ghana’s finances.

He questioned the government’s faith and integrity, asking why God is not present in the Jubilee House. Prophet Oduro expressed disappointment in the misuse of $58 million for the Cathedral project, calling it a wasteful pit.

He also condemned the government for tarnishing the reputation of respected religious leaders who were appointed as trustees for the project. The project, which began in 2021, has stalled despite former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s announcement of a commissioning date in July 2021.

The Cathedral remains at the foundation level, with $58 million already spent. Governance expert Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi also raised concerns about the project, noting the lack of transparency and confusion surrounding it.

He emphasized the importance of leadership culture, strategy, innovation, communication, and execution in such projects, urging the President to ensure transparency and public trust when using public funds.
