“How can I work on weekends”; Lady fired over refusal to work on Saturdays due to 600gh salary

Jimmy Julia, a former personal assistant to the CEO of a real estate company, recently shared her story on TikTok about how she was fired from her job after refusing to work on Saturdays.

Despite earning a salary of less than N100K (equivalent to 570gh), Julia stood her ground when she was asked to work on a weekend.

According to Julia, she was let go following a disagreement with the management over her refusal to work on a Saturday.

Despite making significant contributions to the company, Julia felt uneasy about the request and expressed her concerns to the higher-ups. However, when she returned to work the following Monday, Julia was shocked to find out that she had been fired.

The incident left Julia feeling betrayed and confused, especially since she had been dedicated to her job and had put in a lot of effort to support the CEO.

Her salary of N70,000 was already meager, and the demand to work on weekends without any extra compensation was the final straw for her.

Julia’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of setting boundaries in the workplace and standing up for oneself, even in the face of adversity.

Despite the unfortunate outcome, Julia remains hopeful for better opportunities in the future.
