“I almost died whiles giving birth”- Afua Asantewaa

Ghanaian journalist and businesswoman, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, recently shared her near-death experience during childbirth a few years ago. She revealed this while attempting to break the Guinness World Record on a television show.

Aduonum, who is a mother of three, recalled the challenging birth of her third daughter, which almost cost her life due to complications. The ordeal was so intense that she and her husband decided to name their daughter Yaa Asantewaa in honor of the difficulties they faced.

During a discussion on the show about her plans for having more children, particularly a son, Aduonum expressed that she had no intentions of giving birth again.

She stated that her third daughter is more than enough for her and that she considers her to be like a son. This decision was influenced by the traumatic experience she had during childbirth and the risks involved.

Aduonum’s story serves as a reminder of the challenges many women face during childbirth and the importance of recognizing the sacrifices and struggles they endure.

Her experience has shaped her perspective on motherhood and reinforced her decision to prioritize her health and well-being.
