I Smoked Packs Of Cigarette On Set- Jackline Mensah

While not a smoker in real life, Jackline decided to fully commit to her character in the movie “Tripping” by smoking packs of cigarettes on screen.

Directed by Yvonne Nelson, the film follows the adventures of Cole and his friends as they face unexpected challenges during a getaway.

Jackline plays the role of Peggy, a complex character that requires her to fully immerse herself in the role. In an interview on Happy FM, she revealed that preparing for the role took six months and had physical effects on her, as they filmed in various locations and endured rigorous conditions without much rest.

Despite the challenges, Jackline remained dedicated to portraying Peggy authentically. She admitted that one of the most difficult aspects of her transformation was adopting the habit of smoking for the character, even though she does not smoke in real life.

She also got a piercing for the role to further embody Peggy’s persona.

Despite the toll it took on her, Jackline is proud of her work in the film and encourages audiences to see it at the premiere on Easter Friday at Silverbird Cinemas in Accra.

She emphasized that she gave her all to the character of Peggy and hopes that viewers will appreciate the depth of the character and the journey they went on during filming.
