Kwaku Manu reveals reason he rejected car gift from John Mahama

Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu recently shared details about how former President and NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, offered vehicles to individuals in the creative arts sector during his time in office.

The aim was to support these individuals by providing them with free vehicles to help boost their businesses.

However, Manu disclosed that he turned down the offer because he felt the vehicle was too small for his needs, leading to his loss of interest in accepting it.

Instead, he suggested that the car be given to his colleagues who did not have any vehicles to assist them in their pursuits.

Manu explained his decision by stating that he did not see the other cars being offered to his peers and felt that they would benefit more from receiving the vehicle.

He also clarified that during Mahama’s presidency, there were discussions about providing cars to actors in the industry.

Manu emphasized that his political affiliation was not a factor in declining the offer, and he highlighted that some individuals felt pressured to claim NDC membership in order to receive a vehicle, which he believed was not fair.

He concluded by stating that such challenges and misunderstandings contribute to governments struggling to effectively support the creative arts industry.
