“My mom inspires my songs” – Kofi Kinaata

Fante Rap artist, Kofi Kinaata, has shared that the first song on his seven-track EP, ‘Auntie Ama’, is particularly special to him as it is dedicated to his dear mother.

In an interview with Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he expressed that while all seven tracks hold significance to him, ‘Auntie Ama’ is especially cherished.

The song reflects the advice his mother gave him during his childhood years. Kinaata recalled being a stubborn child which caused his mother a great deal of concern.

She consistently advised him to be obedient, show respect to elders, do what was right, and focus on his education to become a responsible adult.

He recounted how his mother would warn him that if he did not heed her advice, he would struggle to survive without anyone to handle his defiance.

Despite her warnings, Kinaata’s mother is still alive today. This personal experience inspired the lyrics of ‘Auntie Ama’, making it a deeply heartfelt song for the artist.

Kofi Kinaata recently celebrated his seventh year in the music industry with the release of his EP, ‘Kofi oo Kofi’, which he announced on social media on May 10, 2024.
