Nigerian Singer Simi Advocates for Cohabitation Before Marriage – this is why

Simi, the Nigerian singer also known as Simisola Kosoko, recently expressed her support for couples living together before marriage. She believes that cohabitation allows intending couples to better understand each other before making the decision to marry.

In a conversation on the Tea With Tay podcast, Simi revealed that she lived with her husband, Adekunle Gold, before they officially tied the knot. Although she acknowledged that her opinion might not be agreed upon by religious individuals, Simi believes that people who want to get married should live together for a short period of time.

She explained that living together provides a deeper understanding of a person’s true nature, beyond their best behavior in public. It allows couples to witness each other’s crankiness, hunger, and even snoring.

Simi believes that by cohabiting, individuals can truly determine if they are compatible for a lifelong commitment. While many people have chosen to get married without living together first, Simi personally believes that it is a good idea to do so.

She emphasizes that the duration of cohabitation does not have to be lengthy. Ultimately, Simi’s support for living together before marriage stems from the belief that it provides a more realistic perspective on a partner’s true self.
