South Sudan Citizens Fry Eggs With The Sun After Severe Heat (Video)

South Sudan recently closed schools two weeks ago due to extreme heat across the country. The health and education ministries made this decision as temperatures were forecasted to decrease with the upcoming rainy season.

The country has been facing the effects of climate change, including extreme heat, flooding, and drought in recent years.

During the heat wave, temperatures soared up to 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit). Teachers were advised to limit outdoor activities, keep classrooms well-ventilated, provide water to students, and watch for signs of heat-related illnesses.

Despite these precautions, the heat wave continues, as evidenced by a viral video showing a South Sudanese individual using the sun to fry eggs.

The video demonstrates the intense heat in the region, with the eggs frying quickly in a pan left out in the sun.

It is astonishing to consider that the sun is located 150 million kilometers away from Earth, which is equivalent to traveling from Ghana to China 25,000 times.

Additionally, the sun is large enough to fit 1 million Earths inside of it.

This video serves as a stark reminder of the extreme conditions faced by South Sudan and the urgent need for climate action.
