Tears Flow As Youngest Queenmother In Ghana Gets Buried At 22

The final funeral ceremonies for Nana Yaa Manu I, the Queen Mother of Adum Banso in the Mpohor District of the Western Region of Ghana, are scheduled to take place on Friday, March 15th, 2024, in Adum Banso.

Nana Yaa Manu, I was known as the youngest Queen Mother in Ghana before her untimely passing. Tragically, she lost her life during childbirth at the age of 22 in June 2023.

Just a year prior, she had been installed as the Queen Mother of Adum Banso.

Nana Yaa Manu I was not only a Queen Mother but also a nursing student. Her passing deeply affected her schoolmates, who were left in a state of mourning.

She had attended Prestea Senior High School in her hometown and was a student at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Sekondi at the time of her death.

Despite being approached about becoming the Queen Mother while she was still in school, Nana Yaa Manu I initially declined the offer, breaking down in tears at the thought of taking on such a responsibility.

However, she eventually accepted the role and was beloved by her community during her short reign.

The upcoming funeral rites will be a time for the community to come together and pay their respects to Nana Yaa Manu I, who left a lasting impact on those who knew her.
