TV3 spent over GHC60K on me while in the hospital – Abena Korkor

Ghanaian media personality Abena Korkor openly discussed her struggles with emotional outbursts in a recent interview with Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM).

She admitted that her condition contributes to these outbursts but takes full responsibility for her actions.

Abena Korkor revealed details about her destructive behavior during hospitalization, where she incurred substantial expenses totaling over GHC60,000, covered by Media General (TV3).

She mentioned being aware of the information she puts on social media and how bloggers sometimes ask her unintelligent questions.

During her hospitalization, Abena Korkor recalled destroying things around her and causing harm to herself, including cutting herself.

She disclosed that she suffers from bipolar disorder, a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings.

Despite her challenges, Abena Korkor noted that she remains employed by Media General.

Bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic depression, causes emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression).

Abena Korkor’s openness about her struggles has helped raise awareness about mental health issues and reduce stigma associated with it.

She emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for her actions and seeking help when needed.
