“Why Was Kwaku Ananse Not Nominated” – Amerado Questions TGMA Board And Academy Over His Shocking Exclusion

The recent announcement of the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, which took place on Thursday, March 28, 2024, has sparked a significant amount of controversy and discussion within the industry.

Many industry players and artists have expressed their dissatisfaction with the nominees list, pointing out that some deserving names were surprisingly left out.

Among those questioning the list is award-winning Ghanaian musician, Amerado, from the Burnerz Music Group.

He took to his social media platforms to express his disappointment at being snubbed in categories such as Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.

Specifically, he questioned why the original version of his hit song “Kwaku Ananse” was not nominated.

This sentiment has been echoed by many of his fans, who feel that the TGMA nomination team did not do a thorough job, especially in the Songwriter of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year categories.

“Kwaku Ananse” has been a chart-topping success, with over 6 million streams on Audiomack and 4 million on Boomplay.

The official music video on YouTube has also garnered 1.5 million views.

The widespread appeal and popularity of the song among online music enthusiasts further highlight the disappointment felt by Amerado and his fans over the TGMA nominations.
